About Me

My photo
Hello, Welcome to my blog! My style of photography is basically 'see something interesting and snap it'. I enjoy looking for things that nobody would have seen if it wasn't for my photo rather than taking photos of something everyone can recognise and has seen before.

First product shoot

I was inspired by the TV advert to take these photos. I don't like these images because the colours don't work well together, they needed to be all black for it to have the same stylish look as the advert did. I could have edited the props on photoshop to make them black but I knew I didn't want to use these photos so there was no point in seeing what it would look like. They're too busy and take too much focus away from the product. I prefer the one on the left because the composition of the one on the right doesn't do the photo any justice. The photo on the left looks alright to me but not for promotional purposes. I like the way the camera is looking down on the product on the left photo and how the refletion of the props is captured on the product.

To achieve the reflection in the photo on the left I used a sheet of shiny sided card. I like this idea because it exaggerates the shine of the product, making it more desirable. I didn't want to use the packaging in my product shots because it's a little bit tatty so wouldn't have looked appealing as a promotional image but for this shot I thought it needed it. The writing is clear and easy to read, the product looks clean and shiny but the reflection, even though it's a good idea and makes the product look better, it's a little wonky which makes the whole thing look a bit silly.
I created ripples in this fabric to capture streaks of light. I like how the fabric contrasts with the product because it makes the product stand out alot.

I like these photos, the cards add a sense of power, fun and richness from the gambling aspect of them. The photo on the right is the result after editing the scratches and finger marks off the product.
