I have been interested in the portrait work that photographer David Bailey has done for a while and have alwyas wanted to create my own images using his quirky style. His photos don't show a play on foreground V background focusing but when I produce my own images it wont be the focusing which i bring from these photos.
The photo to the left is one of David Baileys photos which I like alot, The deep shadows highlighting his wrinkles and imperfections give the photo lots of tone. I like the expression and tilted head, It's not your normal 'pretty portrait', this has character. I don't think this photo would have the same effect if it was in colour because the tones wouldn't be as strong and the colour would distract us from the quirkiness.
